This Alternative Rock can be refined to be used in manufacturing ROCK n ROLL gear, weapons and merchandise.
The music now known as alternative rock was known by a variety of terms before "alternative rock" came into common usage around 1990. "College rock" was used in the United States to describe the music during the 1980s due to its links to the college radio circuit and the tastes of college students. During 1980 the Indie chart was created in the United Kingdom to find out which singles on independent labels were selling the most amounts of records. These independent labels were the product of the Do it yourself ethos popular there in the wake of punk. By 1985 the term "indie" had come to mean a particular genre, or group of subgenres, rather than a simple demarcation of status.
